STAMP DUTY CONCESSION TO BE EXTENDED?

Reports are circulating that the government will extend the current stamp duty concession by a further three months in next weeks budget on Wednesday March 3rd.

If this is confirmed it would help many existing sales which might inadvertently have failed to meet the March 31st deadline. An extension of three months would also give an opportunity for sales yet to be agreed to also benefit from a saving on stamp duty.

This rumour has already prompted a number of vendors to bring forward the launch date of their properties in the hope that purchasers will be able to benefit from an extended stamp duty concession.

Further details are awaited in Wednesday’s budget.
